Summertime Grass-Fed Sirloin Steak Tacos
Summer is the perfect time for grilling, and there's nothing better than a juicy steak taco on a hot day.
This recipe for grass-fed beef sirloin tacos is simple to make and packed with flavor.
The steak is marinated in a blend of lime juice, cilantro, garlic, and spices, which gives it a bright and zesty flavor.
The tacos are then topped with your favorite toppings, such as guacamole, salsa, sour cream, and shredded cheese.
Ingredients
1 pound grass-fed sirloin steak, trimmed
1/4 cup lime juice
1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
8 corn tortillas
Your favorite taco toppings (guacamole, salsa, sour cream, shredded cheese, etc.)
Directions
In a large bowl, combine the lime juice, cilantro, garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt and pepper.
Add the steak to the marinade and toss to coat.
Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight.
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
Remove the steak from the marinade and grill for 3-5 minutes per side, or until cooked to your desired doneness. Be careful, grass-fed beef is leaner and you may need to adjust your cooking time. For tips, see "Cooking Grass-Fed Beef"
Let the steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing. This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, resulting in a more tender and flavorful taco.
Warm the tortillas as desired
Assemble your tacos with the steak, your favorite toppings
Enjoy!
Tips & Tricks
For extra flavor, grill the tortillas for a few seconds on each side before assembling your tacos.
Get creative with your toppings! There are endless possibilities, so have fun and experiment.
For something a little extra special....try grilling your avocadoes before making your favorite guacamole recipe. Slice in half, place on grill until charred as desired. The grilling adds a little extra "summertime" flavor that might become your new go-to way to prepare your guac!
Use a high-quality cut of meat. Grass-fed beef is a great choice for tacos because it is flavorful and lean.
Grill the steak to your desired doneness. For tacos, I recommend medium-rare or medium.
